Come ride with us!
Meet at Evergreen Bicycle Works at 10am on Saturday, August 19th. Grab a coffee from fiend coffeeworks and take some time to mingle (they'll be there after the ride too). Roll out around 10:20am. We’ll roll through downtown Fort Edward before looping back past the bike shop and continuing on the Champlain Canalway Trail/Empire State Trail out to the Route 196 underpass. We’ll turn around there and finish the ride back at Evergreen Bicycle Works.
This is a slow social ride. Chat with other riders, take pictures, have fun. The pace will be leisurely (think 6-10mph). Total distance will be around 8 miles. Helmets, lights, and bright colors are strongly encouraged - bells too!
Parking at the Canal Street Marketplace is encouraged - there is a water filling station there, and it is just around the corner from our downtown businesses (grab breakfast before the ride at Mamma's Cafe or a bite to eat after at Ye Old Fort Diner or Stumpy's Pizzeria - or pack a lunch and picnic at the Yacht Basin). Slickfin Brewing opens at 2pm if you want to hang around for a post-ride drink (ask us how you can get a discount with the Bicycle Benefits Program).
